OFWs Have Benefited From the Various Skills Trainings

A total of two hundred thirty seven (237) OFWs have benefited from the various Skills Trainings conducted by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – Overseas Welfare Office and the Migrant Workers Office in Kuwait from January to April 18, 2025.

The trainings were held on January 17 and 24 for Basic Perfume Making, February 7 for Basic Bread and Pastry Production, February 21 for Nail Spa, April 11 with Belgian Chocolate Making and April 18 for Scented Candle Making. The venue for the said trainings was at the Migrant Workers Resource Center (MWRC) in Surra, Kuwait.

Ms. Elizabeth L.Tendenilla, served as the Trainer for Perfume and Scented Candle Making, Ms. Jenevieve B. Alicaway shared her expertise on Nail Spa (Pedicure and Manicure). The Basic Bread and Pastry Production was handled by Chef Francis Dave B. Baliling. He is an Executive / Clinical Chef at the Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice with years of expertise in Dysphagia Diet, Ketogenic Diet for Nueroblasma patients, Research and Development, Menu Planning and Costing. They generously shared their knowledge and skills as the Resource Trainers for each training.

The participants showed enthusiasm and eagerness during the training sessions. They learned the basic theories and skills of mixing and making their own scent of perfume, the proper way of making the nails beautiful and preparing bread and pastry production, and how to prepare scented candle.

Prior to the trainings, Welfare Officers Genevieve C. Aguilar-Ardiente and Emmanuel Santiago C. Diaz, discussed the different programs and services of Overseas Welfare Office- Kuwait (OWO Kuwait) they encouraged the attendees to make use of the numerous trainings provided by OWWA-OWO Kuwait to start or continue with their livelihood.
Labor Attaché Atty. Manuel M. Dimaano likewise shared his message and assured them of the continuous efforts of Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Welfare Office to assist the Filipino Community in their reintegration into the mainstream of society upon their eventual return to the Philippines.

The trainings are part of the Reintegration Preparedness Program of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
