First Lieutenant Talal Al-Khalidi of General Department of Criminal Evidence revealed in a radio interview, that over 3.5 millions citizens and expats had already been fingerprinted. Out of the 972 253 citizens targeted, approximately 956,000 have completed the process. 16,000 are still awaiting. Expats have completed 2,504,000 of the 2,685,000 fingerprinting requirements, leaving 181,718 to finish. Similarly, 66,000 of 148,000 Bedouns (stateless individuals) have already completed the process. 82,000 remain pending.
The General Department of Criminal Evidence, in order to accommodate those who are not yet compliant, has established eight centers that operate throughout the week and can handle up to 10,000 appointments per day. The process takes under three minutes, and prior appointment booking is required via the designated app.
