Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, along with senior officials of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), expressed gratitude to the Senate, as the chamber approved in plenary past midnight of Tuesday the P8.79 billion budget of the DMW and OWWA for the year 2025.

“We thank Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero and our dear senators for their unwavering support to the Department, and we commit to full transparency and judicious use of these public funds, all for the best interest and protection of our dear OFWs and their families,” Secretary Cacdac said.

Senate Finance sub-committee Senior Vice Chairperson Joel Villanueva, who sponsored the department’s budget, emphasized that it will sustain the agency’s efforts in strengthening protection of rights and welfare of our OFWs, and in enhancing their capacities for economic self-reliance and empowerment of their families.

The DMW assured the Senate of more efficient and more responsive programs and services to OFWs and their families to help them maximize the gains of their employment and empower them as co-architects of national development.
