During an interview, her sister revealed that, despite the traumat!c !ncident, the worker was initially hesitant to return home, fearing the loss of her employment.
The situation worsened when the worker reported that the son of her employer also began to engage in similar abusive behavior. This escalation compelled her to seek urgent help for her repatriation.
In a fortunate development, Senator Raffy Tulfo, renowned for his prompt intervention in cases involving overseas Filipino workers, stepped in to offer support. Tulfo swiftly reached out to Arnel Ignacio, the Administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), urging immediate action.
Ignacio confirmed that the authorities had been mobilized for the worker’s prompt rescue. The concerted efforts resulted in the successful repatriation of the distressed worker from her perilous situation. She has since been safely repatriated and is now back in the Philippines, reunited with the comfort and care of her family.
