Terminal 1 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Paranaque City is now a place for the country’s modern heroes to relax while they wait for their flight.
The OFW Lounge (overseas Filipino worker) is located on the 4th floor, near the departure area. It can be used free of charge, no matter what type of ticket you have.
The same place will be available at Terminal 3.
There will also be more OFW lounges at other international airports, including Clark, Pampanga, Cebu, and Davao.
The lounge was created as a joint effort by the House of Representatives and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
The design is inspired by similar spaces offered by airlines, but only to their first- and business-class passengers.
In a Sunday statement, Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the Speaker of Congress said: “We opened it according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s instructions.”
The new lounge was inspected by Romualdez, Arnell Ignacio, Mary Melanie Quino, and OWWA Administrator Arnell Quino on Saturday night.
