A Filipino worker who allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of his Saudi Arabian employer has returned home.
According to GMA News, it was said that OFW Jessica de Vera, 25 years old, returned to her hometown in Mangaldan, Pangasinan on September 4, with the help of the municipality’s Migrant Desk Office.
He said he could barely eat because of the amount of work his boss was making him do. They also allegedly took his belongings, locked him in a room, and spat on him.
It also takes until 3:00 in the morning for him to clean the two houses.
According to Ernie Cuison, Mangaldan Migrant Desk Officer, they immediately took action when the information about De Vera’s situation reached them.
This year, the Migrant Desk of Mangaldan has helped seven OFWs who allegedly experienced mistreatment to return home. Although De Vera’s experience working in KSA has been a nightmare, she says she is ready to venture abroad again.
