The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released several guidelines that airlines need to follow for Kuwait Travel. This guideline is based on the decision of Kuwait’s Ministry of Health and the Council of Ministers and Health Authority.
For Kuwait Citizens – Departure from the State of Kuwait
- Travel outside Kuwait is not permitted for citizens who are not vaccinated with the approved vaccines by Kuwait’s health ministry. The appearance of green color in their application (immune/Kuwait mobile ID) with exceptions of these categories;
- Age that is not subjected to vaccinations.
- Kuwaiti citizens can present an approved certificate from the ministry of health that proves their inability to get vaccines because of health-related reasons.
- Pregnant women must present a certificate that proves their pregnancy. It should be issued and approved by Kuwait’s Ministry of Health.
- Citizens must have health insurance throughout their stay outside Kuwait that covers treatment for COVID-19.
For Arrivals to the State of Kuwait
- Kuwait will not accept passengers who cannot provide a negative PCR test which was conducted for the past 72 hours to the time of their flight. They should also not possess symptoms like high temperature, cold cough-sneezing, and others.
For Citizens and Their First-Degree Relatives and Workers That Accompanies Them
- For those who have completed vaccinations approved by Kuwait’s Health Ministry and have a green color on their immune/Kuwait mobile ID application must complete their registration in the Shlonik Application and Kuwaitmosafer platform.
- All immunized citizens must still undergo home quarantine for one week from the date of their arrival in Kuwait. If they wish to discontinue their quarantine, they must pay for the PCR test during their quarantine period to prove that they are free from COVID-19. After a negative result. The home quarantine period will be ended.
- For those who are immunized with COVID-19 vaccines while they are outside Kuwait, they must acquire the approved vaccines and visit the Ministry of Health website to complete the registration process in the Shlonik application and the Kuwait-Mosafer platform. They are also subject to home quarantine for one week since their arrival. If they wish to discontinue their quarantine, they must pay for the PCR test during their quarantine period to prove that they are free from COVID-19. After a negative result. The home quarantine period will be ended.
- For those who are not immunized with COVID vaccines and appearance of red or yellow colors in immune/Kuwait mobile ID application must complete their registration in Shlonik Application and Kuwait-Mosafer platform. They also need to pay for 2 PCR tests with the first one to be performed upon their arrival at the State of Kuwait and the second one to be performed on the 6th day of the institutional quarantine. They must also pay for the quarantine cost which will be situated at local hotels listed at the Kuwaitmosafer platform. Once they are free from COVID-19, they will continue with the home quarantine for 7 days.
- For those who are vaccinated with unapproved vaccines, they will be considered non-immunized.
For Expats
- For those expats who are vaccinated with approved vaccines and have green color on their immune/Kuwait mobile ID application must complete the registration at the Shlonik Application and the Kuwaitmosafer platform.
- For expats who are immunized of approved vaccines, they are still subject to home quarantine for one week from the date of their arrival in Kuwait. If they wish to discontinue their quarantine, they must pay for the PCR test during their quarantine period to prove that they are free from COVID-19. After a negative result. The home quarantine period will be ended.
- For those expats who are vaccinated outside Kuwait with vaccines approved by Kuwait’s Health Ministry must check the ministry of health website as long as the vaccination is electronically proven before their departure from their country of origin. If they wish to discontinue their quarantine, they must pay for the PCR test during their quarantine period to prove that they are free from COVID-19. After a negative result. The home quarantine period will be ended.
Vaccines Approved By The Ministry of Health in Kuwait
- One dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine
- Two doses of Moderna vaccine
- Two doses of AstraZeneca vaccine
- Two doses of Pfizer BioNTech
Categories That Are Excluded From the Institutional Quarantine
- Diplomatic missions and approved diplomats and their accompanying domestic workers
- Kuwaiti patients who were treated abroad as well as their companions after they complete the treatment.
- Government and private medical staff as well as their first-degree relatives and their accompanying domestic workers.
- Minors traveling unaccompanied
This circular will supersede all the previous circular that contradicts the above-mentioned guidelines.
This circular will be effective from Sunday, August 1, at 00:01 Kuwait Local Time.
