Vaccinated Expats With Valid Residence Can Enter Kuwait Soon.

Ban on Expats To Be Lifted ‘Very Soon’ in Kuwait

Recently, it was announced that Kuwaitis who had COVID-19 jabs will enjoy numerous advantages including traveling to another country. However, some restrictions are still being implemented for expats who completed their vaccination shots.

In line with this, a call for equality has been raised for vaccinated expats and Kuwait nationals. According to sources, the lifting of the ban is being considered among vaccinated expats with valid residence visas coming from other countries.

The rules will be similar to Kuwaitis for Expats who have been vaccinated with one of the doses of vaccine approved in Kuwait such as AstraZenca – Oxford, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson with quarantine period and PCR test.

It is expected that the rules will be the same as with Kuwaitis – vaccines should be from the ones approved by the Health Ministry in Kuwait.

But the travel ban will remain on passengers coming from high-risk countries. The list of high-risk countries will be released by the Government Communication Center in coordination with the Ministry of Health and this list will be updated on weekly basis. High-risk countries will most likely include those countries with a high number of infections and countries with the Indian strain of COVID-19 virus.

It is expected that the ban will be lifted to expats ‘very soon’ as more vaccinations are being pushed through.
