Al-Qabas daily reports that problem of the employment of Filipinos, particularly the domestic helpers, seems to be never-ending.
The daily quoting sources said, the problem has resurfaced after Department of Personnel Affairs has confirmed 30 domestic workers had sought the embassy help in Kuwait due to several problems, as stated by an official site in the Philippines.
The Philippines Overseas Employment Administration officer said in a press release Friday that 30 Filipino maids had been repatriated to the Philippines after they had taken refuge in the Overseas Workers Department of the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, claiming physical and sexual attacks by their Arab sponsors in addition to failure of their sponsors to give them their monthly wages as agreed in the contracts.
He said the Philippines authorities after investigating and interacting with the workers flew them to the capital Manila on March 4, 2019, and then to their homes in the provinces in the Philippines. The official pointed out all legal measures against sponsors will be taken. via ArabtimesonlineÂ
