A Filipina In Kuwait Fortunately Escaped From Sure Death. What Happened To Her Will Surely Give You Chills!
An OFW from Kuwait fortunately escaped from an abusive employer who constantly beat her for the past seven months.
The victim who decided to hide her name and preferred to be called Norlita, is a 42-year old housemaid from the Philippines. She was injured severely after trying to escape from her employer which is said to be a police officer. In an attempt to escape death, she climbed to the rooftop of a 2-storey building and accidentally fell. Luckily, she was sent to the Mubarak Hospital to undergo major surgeries. Norlita is also suffering from a damage in the spine which requires urgent surgery. Aside from her head and a single hand, all the other parts of her body is paralyzed. It’s still not clarified if the damage is permanent or just temporary.

According to the statement of Norlita in the presence of the local authorities, Philippine Charge d’Affaires and Raul Dado, the Consul General, Norlita confessed that she was just trying to escape from her employer who strangled her, slammed her head on the floor and terrorized her by saying that he can kill her anytime because he is a police officer. She was terrified and went through the roof but accidentally fell. She added that before she fell, she was not in a normal state because of her fright. She asked God to help and save her because she still have five children back in the Philippines. Not just physical abuse, she also suffered mental abuse for seven long years, according to Norlita.
The recent beatings happened just because of a phone call she made to communicate with her family in the Philippines. Her employer was angered because of what she did, slammed the phone in front of her and threatened to kill her. She was also refrained from calling her family since the incident.
Norlita just recently worked for this abusive employer. According to her, she went back to the Philippines after finishing a two year contract from her previous employer. She decided to work again in Kuwait but fell in the abusive hands of this new employer. This officer has a wife who couldn’t do anything but to watch as she was being abused. According to the Consul General, they will exert all effort to help Norlita.
