At least 108 undocumented overseas Filipino workers (OFW) can’t contain their excitement from the pre-departure precinct until their departure to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait. This is because they are set to go home back to the Philippines.
Most of these OFWs worked as household service workers who escaped from their employees after experiencing physical, verbal, or sexual abuse. Others were deprived of food or salary. These OFWs have no visa.
With many stories to tell, these OFWs go home with a ray of hope for a new life, back with their family.
Under Kuwait’s Assisted Voluntary Repatriation Program, undocumented OFWs can now go home, as long as they’re not under any criminal record.
The Embassy encourages undocumented OFWs to register for the program as “repatriation with no detention.”
There are still more than 230 undocumented OFWs in the embassy shelter, waiting for their repatriation.
Among the 180,000 OFWs, 8,000 are reported to be undocumented.

According to Maxxy Santiago
WALA PONG AMNESTY!
