Kuwait Philippine International School (NKPIS) closure confirmed!

The Ministry of Education confirmed yesterday the closure of the Kuwait Philippine International School (NKPIS) in Jleeb Al-Shoyoukh. Speaking with the Kuwait Times yesterday, Abdullah Ali Al-Basri, General Manager, Ministry of Education at the Public Administration for Private Education said, the matter has already been confirmed to the NKPIS, noting that it had been informed prior to the Ministry’s publication of three notices in local newspapers. “Yes, the school has only until April to operate,” explained Al-Basri. “This is a decision made by the Ministry of Education and we published three notices to inform the public about it,” he said. The notice, published in the Kuwait Times on January 12, 2015, announced that the school must vacate the premises it currently occupies in Jleeb Al Shuyoukh. The notice also warned parents that the school is not allowed to re-enroll students for the 2015/2016 academic year.
