Filipino ranks 5th out of 10 expatriates who violated laws in Kuwait

According to an official statistic, there are about 2.5 million expatriates in the country and 107,000 of them violated the residency law as of Wednesday, Dec 31, 2014.General Department for Residence Affairs  closed the year 2014 by collecting fines worth KD 2,167,000 from about 70,000 expatriates who violated the residency law by failing to update the data in their passports at the General Immigration Department, reports Al-Rai daily.

Below are the TOP 10 nationalities who violated the law :

  1. 20,000 Indians
  2. 19,000 Bangladeshis
  3. 14,000 Sri Lankans
  4. 10,000 Ethiopians
  5. 7,100 Filipinos
  6. 6,910 Egyptians
  7. 5,350 Syrians
  8. 5,240 Indonesians
  9. 3,600 Nepalese
  10. 3,027 Pakistanis.

Meanwhile, a member of the Municipal Council Lawyer Abdullah Al-Kandari says the decision taken by Kuwait Municipality Expat to deport over illegal barbecuing in non-allocated places is unreasonable and unfair, reports Al-Rai daily.
